**About the Opportunity**:
Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology has an exciting opportunity for a permanent, **full-time Laboratory Assistant (Haematology)** to join their team in our Laboratory at Greenslopes Private Hospital, Brisbane.

Responsibilities of the role will include, but not be limited to:

- Preparing and processing clinical specimens in our Pre-analytical area of the laboratory
- Performing all tasks relevant to a particular laboratory assistant shift or a particular section of the laboratory as specified in department manuals;
- Upholding quality standards within the laboratory by adhering to quality system procedures
- Complying with the occupational health and safety policy and programs to ensure personal health and safety, and the health and safety of others in the workplace;
- Cooperating with work colleagues, referrers and their patients to assist with the provision of reliable and efficient service levels
- Participating in in-service training as appropriate and training other staff as required; and
- Performing special duties as required contributing to the implementation of the strategic plan and the effective functioning of a specific station, laboratory or organisation as a whole.

Some of the more specific responsibilities of the position will include:

- Specimen reception and data entry;
- Preparing samples for analysis;
- Assisting the scientific staff with automated instruments;
- General laboratory duties as required;
- Assisting in the internal courier where required; and
- Assisting with phone enquiries.

**About You**:

- Flexibility to work across a rotating 24/7 roster, across weekdays, weekends and public holidays;
- Ability to be trained in specimen reception and some basic testing procedures with good keyboard skills;
- Ability to prioritise work and work efficiently in a team environment;
- Strong attention to detail;
- A strong commitment to laboratory turnaround times.
