**About the Team**
This role reports through to our Fleet Support Logistics Manager and has 3 direct reports - 2 x Logistics Officers and a Customs Officer. The Logistics team forms part of our greater Supply Chain team and works closely with our Projects, Finance, Warehouse and Trade Compliance teams as well. This role will be based at our Military Vehicle Centre of Excellence in Redbank, Ipswich.
**About the Role**
The **Team lead - Logistics** will be responsible for overseeing the Logistics and Customs Specialists, coordinating the movement of production materials from supplier manufacturing sites within Australia and around the globe, as well as the movement of vehicles from Rheinmetall entities in Europe to Australia. Additionally, this position will have responsibility for the ad-hoc freight movements in support of vehicle testing and other project related activities.

**,** you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:
- Coordinate and monitor vehicle and parts movements form both International and Local sources, to Brisbane port and other varied recipients, by sea, air and road freight;
- Coordinate ad-hoc vehicle or parts movements and export shipments to various recipients with limited notice, including raising Requests for Quotes and Purchase Requisitions;
- Monitor delivery documentation requirements for receipt in to local 3PL, and managing local parts delivery schedule and receipting;
- Manage and monitor shipments through customs, and Quarantine;
- International Import certificates and Delivery Verification certifications.
- Manage vehicle delivery performance reporting;
- Conduct supplier performance reviews and monitoring KPI’s to ensure 3PL activities are achieved and within assigned budgets;
- Identify and provide improvement opportunities to the supply chain to contribute to the best total cost of ownership;
- Manage minor commercial tasks in support of contracts, including creation of Purchase Requisitions, approving invoices, and developing Contract Change Proposals, with support;
- Material management assistance and change notice tracking and input as required;
- With guidance, undertaking transport budget forecasting in support of financial and commercial requirements;
- Address export issues in existing programs and new business opportunities whilst also providing assistance with investigations into any suspected breach of export controls regulations.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:
- Qualifications in Logistics and Supply Chain or relevant discipline;
- Experience in logistics, transport, shipping and/or management of freight movements in both hands on and supervisory roles;
- Knowledge and experience of Australian Export Controls laws associated with Defence Strategic Goods List materials;
- Experience in classifying products under the ITAR and EAR;
- Experience with Customs Import and Export requirements and documentation;
- Ability to travel interstate when required; and
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance (must hold Australian Citizenship).
