Our state government client is seeking to engage a Librarian on a contract for 2 months.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Under limited direction and in partnership with the Assistant Director, Acquisitions & Systems you will, manage the administration and data quality processes for all subscription and open access e-content, provide technical support for library projects and develop and implement strategies and technologies to improve cross-platform eResource discovery, accessibility, and integrated services in liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
You will:
- Manage the administration and data quality processes for all subscription and open access e-content provided by the Library, reviewing procedures to improve business processes and develop and maintain associated documentation including policies and procedures.
- Develop and implement strategies and technologies to improve cross-platform eResource discovery, accessibility, and integrated services in liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
- Liaise with vendors and Library staff on Tier 2 technical and troubleshooting matters and provide training and support to staff providing Tier 1 technical support for clients experiencing eResources and access issues.
- Use your technical knowledge and skills to proactively recommend innovative ways to improve client services, client service delivery and the use of library systems and technology and actively participate in CHS Library & Multimedia projects working collaboratively across both teams.
- Provide technical support for library projects as the library assesses and implements new technology and systems that optimise the discovery of and access to scholarly eResources and the delivery of digital library services and improve internal processes using automation.
Desirable:
- Accredited degree in Library and Information Science recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association or equivalent qualifications in information technology is desirable. A minimum of two years' experience working professionally in a library or related information unit is highly desirable.
