Come join us as a Material Controller within our Maritime Australia line of business supporting the Hunter Class Frigate project. You will be working with our Supply Chain team where your contribution supports the provision of quality and customer focused service to meet the needs of the customer, in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Act as a central point of contact for the Production IWT teams providing high levels of customer service whilst maintaining supply chain integrity
- Interpret, analyse and understand inventory reports to then coordinate/ expedite/ plan the movement of materials between the warehouses to meet the production schedules.
- Provide ad-hoc reports and analysis to drive business performance and cost reduction outcomes through common processes, procedures, systems, reporting and KPIs
- Work with the broader Supply Chain Planning, Production Planning & Procurement functions to aid with the calculation of material demand quantities.
- Maintain lineside inventory (Kanban) locations ensuring optimum inventory levels and mínimal stock outs.
- Raise requisitions for direct & indirect materials liaising with the responsible procurement teams
- Responsible for managing any issues related to the flow of non-inventory materials within their allocated building/s and the Hunter Class Frigate Program
- Support the development and implementation of material control continuous improvement initiatives to improve operations
**About YOU**
**You'll have**:
- Previous experience within supply chain or similar heavy industrial production environment (e.g. mining).
- Analytical, inquisitive and logical with a continuous improvement mind-set
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills
- Computer literacy, with intermediate knowledge of MS Suite. Familiarity with tools like SharePoint and Oracle.
- Previous experience in using Enterprise Resourcing Planning (ERP) systems
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or related (Desirable)
