**About the Opportunity**

As a Case Worker, you will use a strengths-based approach and will coordinate case management services to vulnerable people in immigration detention facilities. You will be responsible for effective assessment, individualised case planning and coordination, and providing intensive support for people with emerging and/or ongoing complex needs.

**What you’ll be doing**
- Conducting culturally secure trauma-informed interactions that include implementing and coordinating appropriate intervention strategies and supports, including for reintegration, in a manner that promotes self-agency.
- Actively safeguard and promote the health and wellbeing of people in detention including through timely remediation of barriers to the achievement of their health and wellbeing goals.
- You will lead local case management service delivery and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and focus on supporting and maintaining a positive team culture.

**About you - Your ideal skills and experience**:

- Qualifications to at least a diploma or bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Case Management, Psychology, Counselling, Social Sciences, Behavioural Science, Community Services or similar human services field.
- Minimum of 2 years (full-time equivalent) experience in delivering case management, counselling or similar support for vulnerable adults or families (highly desirable).
- Experience in effective assessment and individualised case planning and coordination ideally with people from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds as well as people who may have had recent experience in the criminal justice system (highly desirable).
- Experience working in a trauma-informed manner to support people experiencing complex health and mental health challenges.
- Maintain a current Working with Children Certificate in accordance with the relevant state or territory child protection legislation.
- Hold and maintain HLTAID009 Provide CPR and HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificates with at least 6 months of currency on the certificate.
- Unrestricted current driver's Licence.
- You have the flexibility to work across different locations and to occasionally work out of business hours based on business needs.
- This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a Federal police check as an essential selection component for this role._
