The position will provide support to the work of the nationally elected NTEU Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Policy Committee and the Union's campaigns around Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander industrial and social justice issues.
The successful applicant will have responsibility for recruitment, organising campaigns to advance the interests of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander members, and educating our broader members. We will be looking for a person who is active in their community and has experience in organising and a sound understanding of tertiary education, especially in universities.
**The position is currently located in our National Office in Melbourne, but the location will be determined with the successful applicant.**There will be some interstate travel involved in the role. You will work directly with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Coordinator and involves a broad range of duties associated with Indigenous higher education policy, industrial relations, training activities and production of a monthly newsletter.
**Salary will be in the range NTEU Level 6 ($108,828 - $119,304 or Level 7 ($123,498 - $136,349),**depending on skills and experience, plus 17% employer superannuation. Terms and conditions for this position are covered by a comprehensive national collective agreement.
