- We are looking for a Blade Technician to join our Renewables Ad Hoc Team in Perth, Australia.
- The main purpose of the role is to operate, under supervision, in the maintenance and upgrade of blades across multiple wind farms location in Australia, New Zealand and the wide Asia Pacific region. Technicians will be managed locally through our service centre in Perth, WA, and interface with technical and management resources in Europe. Potential deployments to international locations.
**About this role**
- Deliver blade repair services using rope access or other elevated work platform technologies.
- Demonstrates and promotes integrity, initiative, as well as a no-compromise focus on safety and quality of work on a continuous basis.
- Ensures adherence to end customer standards of safety and quality work practices
- Maintain tooling and personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with standards
- Ensure adherence to issued work instructions and procedures for all blade related activities
- Support operations with tooling, up tower repair, maintenance, and inspection
- Provide onsite support on the evaluation of blade damages and repair methods
- Undertake blade repairs from Category 1 to Category 5 dependent on qualification skill level,
- Undertake blade upgrades and retrofit tasks.
- This role will require travel, working overtime, including working a flexible and variable work schedule as needed to meet business objectives.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
**HSEQ Responsibilities**
- It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with, and follows the Company's Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Management System and takes an active part in the compliance and improvement of the Management Systems.
- The incumbent must report any accidents, incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems according to the Management System processes/procedures.
- The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health, safety and/or environmental legislation to follow these.
- The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
**Qualifications & Experience**
- Requirement
- IRATA Rope Access Level 1,2 or 3
- GWO Basic Safety Training (or equivalent) certificate
- Preferred
- Minimum 1 years of work experience with different levels of blade repairs or similar relating to fibre composite manufacturing/repair
- Proven capability in repair of
- Category 1-3 (Blade Repair Technician)
- Category 1-5 (Senior Blade Repair Technician/Supervisor)
- Exposure to Glass fibre, Carbon fibre, Epoxy resin system and knowledge of different composite repair processes.
- Experience of installing gurney flaps, serrations and vortex generators
- Experienced with repairing lightening damage and corrosion on LE, TE, ROOT
- RIIOHS202A Confined spaces training (desirable)
- Demonstrated use and understanding of intermediate level power tools associated with blade repair techniques
- Basic computer operation skills, to support uploading of repair reports
- Ability to read, interpret and understand drawings and schematics to validate work activity and ensure that risks are identified and mitigated.

- Able to effectively collaborate with employees at all professional levels and ability to respectfully follow supervision and support initiatives.
- Ability to read, comprehend and write in English.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders 60-125 meters in height plus carry items up to 25kg in weight.
- Comfort working in confined spaces and at heights over 100 meters.
- Ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including high-angle rescue and training.
- Ability to hear and use close range radios.
- Strong field of vision including visual depth perception and ability to distinguish colours.
- Able to work in demanding physical and inclement weather conditions.
- Comfort working remotely with limited supervisory interaction.
