Qualified Farrier

Experienced FARRIER - full-time required to work with JB Farriers - J Bunting Enterprises Pty Ltd.

Location - BALLARAT, VIC.

Salary - in range of $75,000 - $90,000 Per annum depending on your experience and the level of responsibility.

Must have Cert III or IV Farrier trade qualifications (or equivalent o/s qualifications) or at least 3 years experience plus at least 3 years post qualification with racehorses.
- Inspects, trims and shapes horses' hooves
- Prepare horses' hooves for shoeing
- Forms, fits and nails horseshoes
- Identify lameness
- Advise hoof issues and provide solutions
- Select metal stock for job requirements
- Forge and shoe modification
- Communicate well with trainers, stable staff, vets
- Able to work without supervision
- Experience within the Thoroughbred Racing industry
- Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment
