VU is seeking Foundation Studies Sessional Teachers in the discipline areas of English and Mathematics for Foundation Studies in the Centre of VU Transitions, to support our students’ learning and their transition to further pathways.

The Foundation program at VU is central to a high-quality pathway model that uses evidence-based strategies to maximise student success and readiness for university, ensuring a smooth transition to further study. VU's Foundation program has shown strong results, with many students progressing to undergraduate degrees.

**About Us**

The Centre of VU Transitions plays a pivotal role in shaping the academic journey of our VU pathway students. The Centre of VU Transitions is a strategic initiative aimed at enhancing the transition experiences of students as they move through various phases of their educational journey. The following pathway programs are offered to both domestic and international students: Foundations, ELICOS, WMEP (Western Melbourne English Program), Higher Education Diplomas (Business & Information Technology)

**About the Role**

VU is seeking English and Mathematics Foundation Studies Sessional Teachers in the Centre of VU Transitions, to support our students’ learning and their transition to further pathways.

An example of duties you will perform include:

- Facilitate learning and establish educational and assessment strategies to suit a range of students including domestic and international cohorts
- Research, develop and customise learning materials suitable for a range of teaching and learning settings
- Prepare class content materials
- Undertake a range of administrative and compliance - related tasks

**Salary and Conditions of Employment**
- For the sessional teaching roles, the hourly teaching rate payable is $95.01 per hour inclusive of 25% sessional loading plus superannuation.
- Conditions of employment will be covered by Victoria University's Vocational Teacher Enterprise Agreement 2025

**About You**

If you are passionate about creating a positive learning environment and assisting VU students to gain necessary skills to explore further pathways, we would like to hear from you.
- Possess a degree in the relevant area
- Hold a teaching qualification
- Hold a current Working with Children Check or VIT or willingness to obtain one
- Secondary teaching, in particular, VCE teaching experience will be highly regardedExperience working with an international student cohort is preferred
