**About the opportunity**:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a **HyLogger Operator and Lab Coordinator** responsible for data acquisition from the HyLogger-3 and -4 machines and lab management based at the SA Drill Core Reference Library. The role primarily maintains these machines and manages a consistent schedule of hyperspectral scanning. Regular data entry and data processing to a high standard in a computerised environment is required.

The Geological Survey of South Australia (GSSA), is a globally recognised geoscience group delivering geological research, programs, and data and information, as well as managing the South Australian Drill Core Library and collaborating with researchers, other government agencies, universities and industry on technical innovation and science.

**Key Selection Criteria**:

- Demonstrated experience managing a laboratory environment, including Work Health and Safety, Manual Handling practices and procurement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, process and delivering data, information and communication in a computerised environment.
- Ability to process digital scientific data, following instructions to produce a standardised product.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently but also collaborate and clearly communicate with a wide range of people, building productive working relationships with peers, other work colleagues and external stakeholders.

**Qualifications**:
Essential: Forklift Driver's Certificate (LF) (National Accreditation)
Desirable:

- Licence to Operate Radiation Apparatus
- Licence to Use or Handle Radioactive Material

**Remuneration**:
OPS3 salary range $67,589 - $72,033 per annum + superannuation
Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week

**Special Conditions**:

- This is a contract/term vacancy up of 2 years from the date of commencement.
- A current driver's licence is essential.
- Extensive manual handling of drill core and drill chips, which will require the regular loading and unloading of heavy materials. This can include low-level radioactive material.
- The position will be located at the South Australia Drill Core Reference Library facility at Tonsley.
- Must have full rights to work in Australia.
