**Position Overview**

Priority Disability Care Australia are looking for experienced, caring and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our team and provide high quality care and support to our clients. We are looking for Disability Support Workers who are passionate about empowering our clients to achieve their goals and are committed to enhancing the lives of people with disabilities and their families.

This role offers flexible hours with a wide range of shifts available: day, night, active overnights, weekends and public holidays. **Applicants with flexible availability is preferred.**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Supportive Care: Assist clients with daily living activities like feeding, bathing, and dressing, while helping them maintain independence.
- Community Engagement: Encourage participation in community activities, including fun outings like swimming, going to places like Flip Out, and engaging in physical activities alongside the clients.
- Skills Development: Help clients build important life skills and support their personal growth through encouragement and patience.
- Behavioral Support: Work with the team to learn how to support clients in managing behaviors, creating a safe and positive environment.
- Positive Reinforcement: Use simple reward-based systems to encourage positive behaviors, all with training and support provided.
- Culturally Sensitive Care: Provide respectful care tailored to each client’s background and needs.

We provide full training and ongoing support for all aspects of the role, so no prior experience with specific strategies is required—just a willingness to learn and work as part of a dedicated team. You'll need to be physically active and happy to join in on activities like swimming and jumping with clients.

**Requirements**:

- COVID-19 Vaccine Certificate
- First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain)
- Working with Children’s Check (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Orientation Module
- Police Check
- Valid driver’s license and access to own vehicle and insurance (essential as client transport is part of this role)

**Highly regarded but not essential**
- Experience with individuals with intellectual disability and/or mental health
- Experienced with hoist/manual handling
- Fluency in a second language other than English will be an advantage

**Location**

You will find yourself working in various locations across Western Sydney so please ensure that you are able to commute for work.

**Job Types**: Subcontract, Casual

Pay: $24.50 - $62.51 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 40 per week
