Chief Advisor Ergonomics

As a key part of the WHDB leadership team, the Chief Advisor (Ergonomics) provides high level technical advice to the Office of Industrial Relations executive on emerging issues and trends within ergonomics and human factors. The role coordinates whole-of-agency responses relating to musculoskeletal disorder (MSD) related hazards, human factors and poor work design, and assists in the development, implementation and evaluation of high-level strategies and interventions. The role will lead a high performing team, and is responsible for oversight and management of high-quality programs and services that improve health and safety outcomes related to good work design and ergonomics within a regulatory framework.
- Demonstrated ability to shape thinking around complex problems and inspire a sense of purpose around large-scale initiatives and programs related to MSD prevention, ergonomics and human factors, and good work design.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving results through major initiatives and/or projects related to MSD prevention, ergonomics and good work design.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in leading a team to deliver high quality outcomes.
- Demonstrated high-level communication skills (oral and written) as evidenced by a record of cultivating productive working relationships and stakeholder partnerships.
