Goodradigbee Cultural and Heritage Aboriginal Corporation (GCAHAC) is a non-government, not for profit corporation. We are dedicated to delivering culturally appropriate support services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, young people and their families.

GCAHAC delivers a holistic model that provides whole of person care without discrimination. This includes under pinning social determinants that impact heavily on the health and well-being of individuals & families in our community.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

At GCAHAC, our Support Workers work towards supporting vulnerable families who are at risk of further escalation in the child protection system because we believe that supporting families before a crisis improves family resilience and reduces harm to children.

You will be a self-directed person passionate about working directly with families experiencing trauma and committed to providing the best level of care and support possible to our families.

**Essential criteria**
- Minimum Cert III in Community Services or similar qualification
- Have an understanding of the impacts of intergenerational trauma and the affects this has on Aboriginal persons and their families.
- Availability to work flexible working hours including shift work, weekends and awake and sleepover shifts.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of trauma-informed care.
- Current unrestricted drivers' licence and Reliable vehicle
- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
- Current Working with Children Check.
- Willingness to obtain a national criminal history check.

**Desirable criteria**
- Be of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent
