**Your key responsibilities will include**:
- Lead and manage a team to develop, deliver and evaluate innovative and effective media and digital communication and engagement strategies targeting diverse audiences, supporting both OIR and whole of government strategic priorities and business needs. Lead proactive annual media planning and evaluation, proactive and responsive media interactions, media events, interview requests, and issue and crisis management. Manage and build influential relationships with the media. Monitor the media and digital communications environment to highlight potential issues early and identify opportunities to proactively improve OIR's reputation and services. Use websites, social media, digital products and broader end user communication and engagement platforms as integral elements of OIR communication campaigns. Research, write, review and edit publications including but not limited to speeches, presentations, reports, media releases and editorial across a range of media for various audiences, ensuring appropriate standards are maintained. Develop and maintain working relationships with OIR staff and external stakeholders to deliver media, public relations and digital communication services. Manage the out-of-hours media service. Arrange coaching and training for technical staff and executives required to interact with the media. Manage workflow, resourcing and program management across media and digital deliverables for OIR. Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of staff over which you have responsibility. This includes ensuring you and your staff are aware of and observing their responsibilities and obligations including under relevant OIR health safety and wellbeing policies and procedures. Lead, coach and motivate your team through regular feedback and mentoring to achieve operational and personal development objectives, ensuring: - effective and reasonable allocation of work in a risk management model
- competent management of human resource issues and processes
- documented performance development agreements
- team members' behaviour reflects the department's code of conduct. Ensure work undertaken by your team is of a professional, consistent quality, to budget and in accordance with AEU standard operating procedures, WC3 accessibility guidelines, Queensland Government consistent user experience standards and writing and style guides. Actively engage in a multi-disciplinary, agile team environment, supporting team members and driving a team culture that challenges issues, engages with risk and commits to action. Maintain a high standard of practice through governance and risk management.
