**COVID-19 VACCINATION COMPLIANCY**
All Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with the organisation, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Please provide proof of booster vaccination if available
**RESPIRATOR USE**
Health workers may be required to use a respirator, as part of their appointment with the organisation. Where a respirator is required for use, workers will be instructed in their safe use; including donning, doffing and fit checking. Staff may be required to complete fit testing to selected respirator/s to assess their facial fit/seal. At all times when a health worker is required to use a respirator, the health worker must not have any facial hair present. Processes are in place to support workers that need to keep facial hair due to religious observance requirements and/ or health conditions.
**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
**Emergency Department Reception**
- Pre-register patients presenting for Emergency Department into the FirstNet ready for Triage and collect patient information and update patient details by completing a full registration in FirstNet. Admit, Transfer and Discharge patients as notified by clinical staff ensuring all relevant information and paperwork is completed as per the Policy/Guidelines.
- Responsible for the decision and accurate entering of the financial classification of patients presenting to the Emergency Department upon registration including compensable financial classifications i.e. Motor Vehicle Accident, Workers Compensation, DVA, Reciprocal, Medicare Ineligibles and Others.
- Collect and process payments for ineligible service fees from patients not eligible for Medicare cover and issue receipt in a timely manner using Eftpos machine.
- Providing in-eligible patients with information in relation to fees associated with their presentation. Reconcile Eftpos transactions in accordance with departmental procedures prior to submitting to Finance for banking.
- Conduct interviews and financially elect all admitted patients to ED and perform Thelma and Medicare eligibility checks to establish insurance status and follow up with patients for missing signatures on financial documents if still in the department.
- Ensure the completion of signed election forms and any relevant documents in a timely manner. Maintain clear and professional communication with clinical, medical and clerical staff regarding high quality patient care.
- Comply with all policies and procedures relating to RPAH, SLHD and Emergency Department and assist the ED Clerical Manager with the implementation of strategies to improve business processes in the Emergency Department.
- Welcome visitors, patients and carers into the Emergency Department in a friendly, empathetic and professional manner and direct visitors, patients and carers to the appropriate area, or staff.
- Other duties as determined by the ED Clerical Manager, Patient Registration Manager, ED NUM or ED Director in accordance with the Health Employees Administrative (staff) Award.
**KEY CHALLENGES**
- Time management - ability to complete tasks to a high standard within set Deadlines and the ability to prioritise own workload and assist other team members if required and the ability to work a 24/7 rotating roster as allocated.
