**ABOUT THE ROLE**

TAFE NSW is seeking a Permanent Full-time Teacher of Arboriculture to deliver the Certificate III in Arboriculture based at the Padstow Campus via face-to-face delivery, in addition to some hands-on practical classes delivered in the National Parks across the Bathurst and Southern Highlands areas.

The role is responsible for a range of activities, which supports learners, and enhances the student learning experience. As a professional educator you will skill the workforce of tomorrow by constructing and guiding the educative process with a mixture of online workshops and classroom delivery. In the role, you will use your industry experience to deliver educational programs and facilitate practical learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes.

This position is permanent full time with a salary package between $96,158 - $114,039. For full details about the position please review the?Position Description and Information Pack.

**ABOUT YOU**

To succeed in the role, you can maintain your professionalism whilst building an approachable and instant rapport with your cohort of students. As student outcomes are about more than the course material It is important that you have strong communication skills to be a relatable teacher that can guide and mentor students in a meaningful way to impart your specialist knowledge.

In the role, you will be able to not only impart your technical skills but also the industry standard safety culture to your students. Equally, its important you understand current and emerging industry skills in this high-risk profession so TAFE NSW can be responsive to deliver a pipeline of highly skilled and in-demand workers.

You are highly flexible and adaptable with specialist knowledge and emerging skills in Arboriculture. You have the physical capability to climb trees on a regular basis. You will also have proficient computer literacy skills using a range of different platforms and be able to implement record management.

To be successful in this role you must:

- Hold the minimum vocational qualification in Certificate III in Arboriculture (Climbing Specialist), or equivalent. With a commitment to maintain technical industry currency in any discipline.
- Be able to undertake the genuine physical requirements of the position and be physically able to climb trees.
- Have a minimum of five (5) years relevant and post-qualification experience in the industry relevant to your qualification. With the ability to understand the content of the learning materials, the processes used in the discipline and the capability to prepare and deliver lessons.
- Hold the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or the TAE40110 qualification with the required additional upgrade units, or higher-level qualification in adult education.

Considered highly desirable, is the Elevating Work Platform (EWP) National High-Risk Work (HRW) Licence, however this is not essential.
