Currently we are seeking a highly motivated **Kitchen Assistant**to join our team on a part

**Your responsibilities will include but will not be limited to**:

- Assisting the cook with the preparation of meal ingredients (food and beverage)
- Serving of resident meals
- Cleaning and sanitizing all food preparation area according to standards of WHS and hygiene standards
- Use of the commercial dishwasher to wash cooking appliances, instruments, utensils, cutting boards and dishes
- General kitchen cleaning and sanitizing according to daily cleaning schedule
- Organizing and correctly storing food supplies
- Promptly transferring meal ingredients from storage areas to kitchen area
- Completing required documentation and reporting
- Adhering to WHS requirements including the safe storage and use of chemicals and equipment.

**Please Note: The GSO Department covers cleaning, kitchen & laundry. All GSO staff may be required to train & work in all areas as needed by the Facility.**
- Have at least 1 years' experience in a similar role - _**desirable but not essential**_
- Have knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety principles
- Have strong organisational and time management skills
- Be proactive, flexible and able to show initiative
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team
- Be willing to learn and commit to ongoing professional development
- Have their own transport or live locally
- Full Australian Working rights
- Have completed a food handling certificate or Hospitality qualification - _**desirable but not essential**_
- A knowledge of safe food handling principles & how to create a safe working environment
- Have a high-level attention to detail
- Have a proactive self-motivated and enthusiastic attitude
- Flexible and willing to undertake a wide variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Understands the need for privacy & confidentiality
- Willing to be a team player and assist co-workers where needed
