**About Hume Family, Youth & Children**

The Hume City Council's Family, Youth & Children Services department is responsible for education, coordination, advice, and delivery of a broad range of services for children, young people, and families. This includes Early Childhood Services providing support, education, and care via 4 Long day care services, 30 funded sessional Kinder Services and 3 Occasional Care programs. We also have teams dedicated to Youth Engagement & Pathways, Maternal and Child Health, Immunisation, and Inclusion & Service Planning.

**The Opportunity**

Hume City Council Children's Services Department is seeking suitably qualified Early Childhood Educators to develop and implement innovative children's educational programs in collaboration with staff, families, and children. This will include planning, implementing and evaluating programs for children and creating inclusive, secure and interactive learning environments. Sound knowledge of current theory in practice, pedagogy and contemporary early years reforms will compliment Council's Children's Services team.

Ability to support and motivate a team, along with knowledge and experience in meeting the regulatory requirements of all relevant legislation and guidelines is essential.

Currently seeking suitably qualified Diploma, Certificate 3 Educators across our **four Long Day Care Centres** with opportunity for Permanent & Temporary Full Time, Part Time & Casual work.

Our Services are in Sunbury, Craigieburn, Roxburgh Park, and Coolaroo.

**About You**

As an enthusiastic Early Childhood Educator your responsibilities and expertise will include but not limited to:

- Diploma of Children's Services/Certificate 3 in Children's Services
- Experience in Long Day Care Services
- Sound knowledge of the Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct
- Must be flexible and able to work on a rotational roster between 6:15am and 6:45pm Monday to Friday.
- Demonstrated understanding of current theory in Practice in Early Childhood and current trends of Early Years Pedagogy. Demonstrated ability to maintain documentation of children's learning and the Planning Cycle.
- Demonstrated sound understanding of the Child Safe Standards, Reportable Conduct and Mandatory Reporting. Demonstrated ability to embed knowledge of Child Safe Standards in daily practice and across the Services.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively as an Educator within a large team, and the ability to network and build relationships within the community and Council.

**Hold a current and valid**:

- Working with Children's Check
- First Aid Level 2
- Anaphylaxis Management
- Emergency Asthma Management
- Updated CPR
