**Your new role**

As the SMP Coordinator you will be leading the SMP packages and construction team activities with a key focus on:

- Safe delivery of allocated execution activities for the Major Project activities and specifically onboarding, training, competencies, SMP coordination and mobilisation activities
- Responsible for reporting any safety related incidents including management of people involved
- Lead a team of professionals to deliver safe, on time and on budget execution of major project site activities.
- Ensure that work is completed in a safe planned manner providing direction on work design/methodology and guidance to coordinators, package supervisors and engaging with contractors and taking direct accountability for execution outcomes.
- Support and live out the project safety culture as a key member of the project team ensuring that risk management and safe systems of work are delivered for all aspects of the project scope.
- Ensure operational interface and internal stakeholder engagement

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Holds a recognised and relevant trade qualification or university degree or diploma
- Supervisor Appointment under the required regulations
- Experience in mining construction activities
- Previously been in a leadership role within a construction team in the mining industry
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the core principles and concepts related to operating and maintaining of operational equipment.
- Demonstrated written and oral English language proficiency
- Australian working rights
- Demonstrated capability to successfully lead a team and influence others
- Exceptional safety leadership with an ability to identify and eliminate hazards in the workplace
- Ability to develop, coach and mentor employees/contractors to improve engagement, culture, diversity, and capability
