Business Need / Purpose of Role:
Work within a range of warehouse functions with a strong emphasis on safety, accuracy and urgency, to support department objectives and fulfill customer service requirements.

Objectives & Measurement

Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:
Objectives:

- Picking product by hand, utilising Material Handling Equipment or mechanical aids
- Packaging or repackaging of outbound consignments, including labeling and packing to customer specific packaging requirements
- Utilisation of hand tools including but not limited to; nail guns, hammers, strappers, crow bars, staple guns and labelers.
- Utilising WMA’s systems to control stock movement including receipt, put-away, picking and dispatch
- Utilisation of RF scanners
- Liaise with other departments, service providers and internal stakeholders, relative to stock movement, transport or warehousing, when required
- Operation of Material Handling Equipment, inclusive of on pavement forklifts and high reach trucks
- Loading and unloading of various truck types

Measurements:

- Support the department objective of =>98.5% pick, pack and distribution accuracy
- Support the department objective of =>98.5% On Time Delivery
- Cross checking procedures are followed to prevent errors
- Adherence to all Safety rules, policies and operating guidelines
- Adherence to all Standard Operational Procedures

Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: 2-5 years’ experience in a warehouse environment. Exposure to RF scanning, Forklift operations and moderate velocity distribution in a heavy industrial environment. Must have a strong commitment to safety and experience working with safe operating rules, policies, guidelines and or procedures.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with peers and supervisors and relay information accurately and clearly.

Mathematical: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: Must be computer literate and be able to utilise warehouse management systems

Physical Demands: The employee must be physically fit, being able to meet the physical demands of the role and pass the pre-employment medical assessment. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 20 Kilos. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods and comfortable working in an industrial warehousing environment.

Work Environment: Warehouses, other functional departments, outside yard locations, office spaces and 3rd party locations.
