Head of Strategy

**What’s the role?**

We are a new team within News Corp Australia adopting a startup approach to disrupt the digital media and comparison markets. Our ambition is to be the #1 destination for consumers to compare products on life important money decisions and generate quality leads for businesses across several categories.

This is a leadership role with the primary focus of setting and executing the strategy to drive commercial growth for the News Compare team through a collaborative and performance-focused leadership style, building an innovative lead generation operation and advocating the team values to grow the team culture.

The Head of Strategy & Operations will bring a wealth of experience across the operations function’s key accountabilities including market research and insights, product development, and client and vendor management. While continually seeking new and innovative ways to disrupt the market and drive commercial growth.

Key accountabilities for the role include:

- Business growth strategy development
- Future opportunity pipeline management
- Business case preparation and capital raising
- Commercial and vendor management
- Operating model and process
- Product strategy and vision
- User research, product design and development
- Compliance and regulation
- Perform thorough evaluations of business opportunities through analysis of competitive analysis, financial analysis, market analysis, performance analysis, technology platforms and strategic fit
- Champion new business opportunities for News Compare across the organisation

**Who you are**
- Degree level qualifications in Business, Sales, Marketing or related field - or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated executive success leading Product and Commercial Operations in a Digital environment.
- Demonstrated success in successful execution and delivery of key growth initiatives.
- Proven success in leading Operations and scaling a business unit.
- Extensive experience in the comparison and/or finance industries.
- Extensive knowledge of best practices in Digital Marketing, Lead Generation and Product Management.
- Led best practice Product teams, notably in lead generation and launched market-leading products.
- Demonstrated success in business development and account management.
- Deep experience managing prospecting and due diligence processes and pipeline management.
- Extensive knowledge in best practices Operations, including agile ways of working and lean.
- Extensive knowledge in best practices for Customer Experience, including Human Centred Design.
- Demonstrated success securing significant corporate deals.
- Expert in sales and business development.
- Exceptional project management skills.
- Exceptional at building relationships and effective stakeholder management with senior level corporate stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level written communication skills and expertise in crafting compelling and relevant proposals and reporting.
