**Georges River Council has multiple exciting opportunities for Bushcare Officers based in Mortdale.**
**About the Role**
This role sits within our City Technical Services team, which manages and leads activities of Council's open spaces, including bushland and various environmental projects. This role will participate as a member of a team to implement bushland field operations for rehabilitating and conserving the Georges River Council’s urban bushland. This role will also be responsible for Council’s on ground Bushcare/Bushland Management function including completion of bush regeneration practices in bushland reserves, supervision/management of bush regeneration contractors and volunteers.
We’re looking for someone with a relevant qualification and demonstrated experience in ecological restoration including assisted regeneration, revegetation and large scale weed control. You will also bring a customer focused approach and can-do attitude to engage and influence key stakeholders to achieve the best outcome for Council and the community. You're someone who is knowledgeable in bush regeneration, conservation, and or land management. Your experience extends to coordinating volunteer programs and activities which aim to effectively educate and inform the community.

Qualifications, certificates and Licences
- Cert III Conservation and Land Management (Natural Area Restoration) or equivalent experience
- ACDC Spray licence or Chemcert
- Strong plant identification skills - native and exotic across a range of ecosystem types
- Class C Drivers Licence
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
Essential
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of ecological restoration including assisted regeneration, revegetation and large scale weed control
- Experience in bush regeneration, conservation, and land management
- Experience in the coordination of volunteer programs and activities
- Understanding of and commitment to WHS practices
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Willingness and ability to work in various locations throughout LGA to complete bush regeneration and weed management activities
- Ability to work without supervision and as part of a team
- Demonstrated physical fitness, work performance, knowledge, skills and experience in repetitive bush regeneration maintenance tasks
- Appropriate written and oral communication skills
