Perth Heavy Haulage is a WA based family owned and operated transport company that provides heavy haulage transport Australia wide. Due to company growth, we are currently seeking a full-time Trades Assistant with the opportunity to be offered a HD Mechanical Apprenticeship after 6 months.

**JOB TITLE**: Trade Assistant | Yardperson

**JOB TYPE**: Full Time (0630 to 1600 Monday to Friday)

**LOCATION**: Perth WA

**SUPERVISOR/MANAGER**: Workshop Supervisor & Director

**MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist tradespeople as instructed to enable work to be carried out
- General housekeeping of the depot facilities in accordance with company standards, this includes but not limited to the workshop, yard & bathroom & kitchen facilities
- Perform safe loading and unloading of plant and equipment as required
- Ensuring trucks and trailers are parked in an efficient manner to ensure sufficient flow of the depot
- Refueling of trucks
- Assisting tradesperson / drivers with the repair, fitting and changing of tyres
- Collection and delivery of all parts and equipment as required
- Adhoc duties as directed by the Workshop Supervisor &/or DirectoR

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**

**Qualifications | Requirements**:

- Valid HR Licence or willing to obtain
- Current Forklift Ticket
- Self-motivation and willingness to work hard
- **A sense of humor** - we like to keep things light while we work hard

**Experience**: Minimum of 2+ years in in a workshop assisting trades people or transport environment

**Skills**:

- Good interpersonal, written and verbal skills
- Operate hand tools in safe and efficient manner
- Ability to prioritise work and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Sound knowledge of safe working practices and procedures in a workshop environment

**Salary**: From $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 38 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
