**About the Role**:
An exciting opportunity exists to make a real difference to our beautiful Bayside municipality where you will be working to ensure proper and orderly land use, development and arboricultural outcomes within the Bayside Planning Scheme and related local laws and strategies.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the department via managing and providing advice to planning referrals for landscape requirements and tree removal or retention.
**Key Selection Criteria**:
To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and competencies:
- Proven ability to provide accurate, specialist information and advice to customers regarding various facets of statutory planning and arboricultural related matters.
- Demonstrated ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, as well as planning process administration and records management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a very high standard of service to customers.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively in a team environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or associated fields of expertise (minimum Certificate V in Arboriculture or equivalent) and/or experience that will enable the successful undertaking of the requirements of the position.
**Mandatory pre-employment requirements**:
- Be willing to undergo and complete a satisfactory criminal history check.
- Provide or obtain an employment-based Working with Children check
- Be willing to undertake a premedical assessment check (if applicable for the role).
