**About the area**
The University Secretariat, part of the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Operations), plays a critical role in supporting UWA’s corporate and academic governance frameworks. The team provides strategic and operational support to the Senate, University Executive, controlled entity boards, and key committees. The Secretariat ensures integrity in governance practices, compliance with legislation, and effective corporate policy and advisory support across the institution.

About the opportunity
- Provide high-level corporate governance and policy advice directly to the University Secretary and senior leadership.
- Lead the governance practices of UWA’s controlled entities and oversee associated compliance and quality assurance activities.
- Act as Executive Officer to key University committees and boards, while supporting the operational and strategic priorities of the University Secretariat.

About you
- A relevant tertiary qualification and substantial experience in corporate governance or policy advisory roles.
- Proven ability to manage confidential and complex issues with integrity and discretion.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal and negotiation skills, with experience managing committees or boards.
- Excellent analytical, organisational and communication capabilities, including the ability to balance competing priorities.

Special Requirements
- A current National Police Clearance Certificate will be required prior to appointment.
