**The role**

The Principal Geophysicist role is to lead geophysical exploration programs for lithium and iron ore projects by planning, executing, and managing geophysical surveys, interpreting and analysing data, and providing recommendations for exploration drilling and target selection.

**Key deliverables**:

- Lead and manage geophysical exploration programs for lithium and iron ore projects
- Develop exploration strategies and execute geophysical surveys, including data acquisition, processing, and interpretation
- Analyse and interpret geophysical data to provide recommendations for exploration drilling and target selection
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure geophysical exploration programs are aligned with project objectives
- Provide recommendations for exploration drilling and target selection.
- Analyse and interpret geophysical data to provide recommendations for exploration drilling and target selection
- Provide input to the Exploration Manager for medium and long term planning
- Provide technical guidance and support to internal staff and external consultants
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal and external audiences
- Provide technical input to contractor selection and management
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Influence and facilitate the mentoring and development of the MinRes Exporation and Geology team

**What you’ll bring to the team**:

- BSc (Geology) at a minimum, MSc or PhD in a related field would be highly regarded.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in geophysical exploration programs for lithium and iron ore projects.
- Proficient in geophysical survey design, data acquisition, processing, and interpretation.
- Experience in managing exploration geophysics programs from conception to completion
- Proficient at evaluating digital datasets using GIS software and 3D geological modelling
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical information to non-technical audiences
- Self-discipline and positive attitude, with an ability to work autonomously and within a team environment
- Valid C Class manual drivers licence
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
