**The opportunity**

We are looking for an experienced Retail Stock Control Assistant to join our team at**Perth on a full time basis. This position involves overseeing stock levels, conducting stock audits, and coordinating stock movements to ensure optimal product availability for customers. The Stock Control Assistant collaborates closely with store management, the stock control team, and other departments to streamline stock management processes, minimize stock discrepancies, and support the overall success of the store.

**Key Strategic Objectives**:

- **Inventory Audits and Cycle Counts**: Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy, promptly investigating and resolving any discrepancies to maintain data integrity.
- ** Stock Replenishment Coordination**: Collaborate with the Store Manager and stock control team to facilitate timely stock replenishment, ensuring optimal product availability and efficient stock flow on the shop floor.
- ** Stockroom to Shop Floor Movements**: Coordinate the movement of stock between the stockroom and the shop floor, ensuring accurate and efficient handling of merchandise.
- ** Stock Control Procedures**: Establish, maintain, and regularly review stock control procedures, including counting, stock rotation, and reconciling discrepancies, to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.
- ** Loss Prevention**: Monitor and report potential issues related to stock loss or shrinkage, collaborating with relevant teams to implement corrective actions.
- ** Data Entry and Record Keeping**: Accurately enter stock data into inventory management systems, ensuring all records are up to date and reflect actual stock levels.
- ** Health and Safety Compliance**: Ensure all stock handling and storage activities comply with health and safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques, safe stockroom organization, and adherence to hazardous materials guidelines.
- ** Safe Stockroom Practices**: Maintain a clean and organized stockroom, ensuring safe access to all inventory, clear aisles, and proper storage of stock to prevent accidents and injuries

**Skills & Experience**:

- Proven experience in inventory management or stock control, preferably in a retail environment highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving mindset and the ability to make data-driven decisions to optimize stock control processes.
- Knowledge of stockroom organization, product handling, and storage best practices.
