**Role Summary**:
The Outage Project Lead is a newly created opportunity based at our Pinjar site. Reporting to the Manager Pinjar & Regional Gas Generation, the Outage Project Lead will work as an effective member of the Pinjar and Regional team and demonstrate a commitment to drive safety, stakeholder focus and alignment with Synergy culture.

The Outage Project Lead will ensure the effective execution of contracted major maintenance outages and projects, leading the coordination of outage activities and providing specialist technical and commercial advice to achieve the agreed outage objectives.

**Key responsibilities of the role include**:

- Successfully deliver gas turbine, generator and turbo machinery inspection and overhaul outages and upgrade projects.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a robust project management framework and system for extracting maximum value from existing Gas Generation (GG) supplier relationships, collaborating with the Procurement and Commercial departments.
- Support the development of annual outage and project plans including budgets, schedules to deliver Major Maintenance Outage work scopes that are in accordance with the asset lifecycle plans for the Pinjar and Regional Gas Generation assets.
- Estimate and schedule scopes of work to be performed by contractors.
- Demonstrate visible safety leadership and build an enduring safety culture, maintaining a safe working environment and participating in observations, audits, and inspections.

**What you’ll bring**:
**Essential**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Project/Contractor Management or Frontline Management,
- Formal qualifications in engineering or electrical/ mechanical trade certification
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing and supervising successful delivery of maintenance and outage contracts in power generation and/or industrial process industry,
- Extensive knowledge of gas turbine and generator power station safety and maintenance systems, equipment, processes and practices,
- Extensive knowledge of contract management and financial management processes.

**Preferred**:

- Post graduate qualifications in specialised area or related commercial and/or engineering discipline (i.e. MBA),
- A track record of identifying performance improvement opportunities and delivering performance improvement projects,
- High level project management skills, strong analytical and coordination skills, with the tenacity to see ideas through conception to implementation.
