**How this position will Make the Difference to City of Melbourne**:
The Community and City Services Division puts people, families and community at the forefront of our work. It strives to ensure that Melbourne is a city for all, one that is liveable, healthy and vibrant and meets the needs of a diverse and growing population. By providing high quality information, services, programs and spaces for our community and our customers, we are building strong, connected and engaged local communities that have the tools they need to meet their potential at all stages of life.

The Community Content Creator will be a key contributor to the design and development of the Community Development Branch’s communications strategy, in collaboration with the Strategy and Projects Team. The role will be required to collect, interpret and adapt stories from community and CoM staff into key communications materials that will be used with a range of target audiences including external stakeholders, internal CoM stakeholders, executive leadership and councillors.

**Selection Criteria**:
All CoM employees will demonstrate an ability to articulate and demonstrate benefits of positive culture and values.
- Collect and share examples of City of Melbourne community development work with a focus on showcasing community voice and experiences. This work will be coordinated by the Community Content Creator in a way that supports the branch’s change management objectives and communications program.
- Build an understanding of important stakeholders and audiences for the branch to shape compelling narratives.
- Work closely with members of the Community Development Branch and other branches across City of Melbourne to collect impactful stories
- Partner with City of Melbourne stakeholders to conduct events, surveys and other information gathering projects that will generate community content.
- Work with other City of Melbourne branches to build better practices and tools to consistently collate stories and showcase the impact of our work with communities

**What you will bring**
- Ability to demonstrate and display City of Melbourne Values - accountability, integrity, courage, respect for self and others, and striving for excellence.
- High-level knowledge and understanding of creating content for digital and traditional channels.
- Demonstrated ability to create and support an effective communications and marketing program with preparation of compelling narrative communication materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience with copy writing and proof-reading.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with people from a wide range of cultural or social backgrounds.
- Previous experience with relevant communications software and programs.
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable and innovative within a changing environment.
- Tertiary qualification or relevant experience in relevant field such as communications, marketing or journalism.
