Liaison with Registered Training Organisations (RTO's) and students in what requirements are needed to obtain a Qld Gas Work licence or Authorisation.
Key Accountabilities
- The unit works on a digitised solution which is continually upgraded to give maximum customer support, and at times you will be required to assist the Manager of the LAU - in projects that involve the unit.
- Supervise, mentor and coach the Licensing and Authorisation team to deliver key services and business outcomes and to develop a professional, consistent, and competent team.
- Provide assistance to the Manager, Licensing and Authorisation with activities such as monitoring workflow for the unit, undertaking quality assurance, and reporting on performance.
- Provide responsive, accurate and timely services to customers and stakeholders in line with legislation, policies, procedures, and accepted practices.
- Ensure relevant licensing and authorisation key indicators are achieved.
- Provide informed advice and information to customers and other stakeholders in relation to licensing and authorisation functions (including dealing with a range of enquiries)
- Assist with processing compliance goods orders when received.
- Create, monitor, and maintain meaningful and accurate records in operational databases and departmental record keeping systems.
- Liaise with registered training organisations and other jurisdictions to verify and or/ exchange information where appropriate (e.g. mutual recognition arrangements, applicant history checks etc.)
- Establish and maintain networks with key stakeholders and other staff.
- Assist the Manager, Licensing and Authorisations with the continuous improvement of relevant policies and procedures, systems, and practices.
- Foster an equitable and fair workplace ethos through the development and implementation of management standards and policies, for example, performance planning and review, recruitment and selection, training and development, workplace health and safety and employment equity.
Other duties as directed.

Key knowledge and experience
- Significant experience in administration of authorities, working in a regulatory environment or equivalent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Essential / desirable requirements
- Travel for associated duties from time to time
- Hold a current open provisional licence would be desirable
