National Disability and Community Services (NDCS) is seeking a compassionate and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide support and assistance to clients with disabilities, as well as those facing age-related challenges and mental health issues, within a community setting.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide emotional support and counselling to clients with mental health issues.
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Monitor and document clients' progress, reporting significant changes to healthcare professionals.
- Coordinate with the healthcare team to ensure comprehensive client care.
- Advocate for clients' rights and ensure access to necessary resources.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical and legal standards.

Qualifications and Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support, Mental Health, Aged Care, Community Services, or Disability Work (or higher).
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Manual Handling Certificate
- Working With Children Check
- NDIS Worker Check
- Completion of NDIS modules (Orientation, New Worker Induction, Supporting Effective Communications, Supporting Safe and Enjoyable Meals).
- Valid driver's license with vehicle registration and insurance
- Infection Control Certificate
- Medication Certificates
- Diabetes Certificate.
- Others

Competencies and Experience
- Minimum of 1 to 3 months in a similar role, preferably supporting individuals with disabilities.
- Proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize caseload.
- Commitment to professional development, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice.
- Previous support work experience in Disability is desirable.
- Reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
- Problem-solving skills and creative thinking.
- Competent in using smartphones and relevant apps.
- Availability for mandatory training and flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $31.00 - $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week
