**About us**:
Parliamentary Catering Services provides innovative and cost-effective catering services for Members of Parliament, official guests, staff of the Parliamentary Service and approved guests. Catering Services operates in a semi-commercial environment within the public sector.
A unique opportunity exists at Queensland Parliament for a Catering Services Manager. Parliamentary Services is located in the CBD opposite the Botanic Gardens. Few restaurants in Brisbane can boast the rich history that comes with Parliamentary Services Strangers Dining Room, matched with large scale events, a café, weddings, meetings and our infamous high tea's.

**Your key responsibilities will be**:

- Assisting the Director of Property & Facility Services develop the annual Catering operational plan and budget.
- Achievement of financial goals as set by executive management.
- Supporting the execution of the Catering Sales and Marketing Plan.
- Providing support during client events and site inspections.
- Ensuring prompt follow-up on event proposals to maximize revenue.
- Leading the weekly event communication meeting for effective team coordination.
- Maintaining billing procedures for accuracy.
- Performing staff performance reviews and creating annual training plans.
- Updating food and beverage policies to comply with health and safety regulations.
- Managing the maintenance of facilities and equipment for operational efficiency.

**To excel in this dynamic role, your background should include**:

- Operations - A proven track record in food and beverage management, functions/events, casual to fine dining, within a service-driven hospitality environment.
- Planning & Communication - Possess a deep understanding of menu crafting and pricing across various food and beverage offerings. Your standout communication abilities and knack for forging strong bonds with both team members and guests will shine through.
- Leadership - is second nature to you, allowing you to smoothly orchestrate catering operations, from planning and managing to delegating and reviewing.
- Multitasking & Tech Proficiency - Juggling multiple tasks and deadlines is your forte, thanks to your exceptional organizational skills. You're also tech-savvy, with a solid grasp of catering management software for handling reservations, event sales, POS systems, and billing processes.
- Compliance - A comprehensive understanding of occupational health and safety, food sanitation, and responsible service of alcohol standard.

This is a contracted position for a period of 3 to 5 years. The salary range for this position is $96,366 - $104,519 per annum plus superannuation. You will also enjoy a range of benefits such as flexible work arrangements, 5 weeks annual leave, professional development opportunities and free access to an onsite gym. The position may be required to work longer than normal hours on parliamentary sitting weeks (approximately 16 sitting weeks a year) and on evenings when there are significant events.
