**Job description**

Alkira Care Services is looking for a dynamic, well rounded person who can adapt and be creative in high stress situations. Alkira Care aims to help support people with disabilities and the network of loved ones that surround them.

Alkira care hubs are located in South Lakes, Armadale and Bayswater however we provide in-home care and community support all around Perth Metro Area. You will have an option to work with children or adults.

We are looking for people who can work autonomously to provide the best level of care to Alkira Care clients. With such a diverse group of clients, with their own level of special needs, we are looking for someone to help individuals integrate into local community services.

Experience is preferred however, **not necessary**.

**Job Type: Full Time or Part Time hours available**

**The following experience and qualifications to fill this role**:

- 1 year support work experience in a similar role or a certificate in Disabilities / Age Care is not required, but preferred.
- Able to be flexible with hours. Shift work and weekend work is required
- Ability to demonstrate the skills and knowledge needed to work with clients with high complex medical needs.

**Experience supporting clients with the following need; (2 or more) - NOT REQUIRED, BUT PREFERRED.**
- Gastronomy PEG feeding
- Tracheotomy
- Oral Suctioning
- Epilepsy
- Medication administration
- Patient transfers using hoist (standing/full)
- Stoma care
- Diabetes management
- Managing challenging behaviours and working with PBS
- Ability to drive clients in a wheelchair van (or willing to learn)

**Mandatory requirements**:
Must have the following requirements or willing to obtain.
- Current Police Clearance (less than 6 months old)
- Current Working With Children
- Current Drivers License
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current Manual Handling Certificate
- Current Medication Administration Certificate
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check

**Work Eligibility**:
Permitted to work permanently with no restriction on hours (Citizen/Permanent Resident)

**Job Type**: Full Time or Part Time

**Salary**: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Flexible hours
- Weekend availability

COVID-19 considerations:
Must meet vaccination requirements, some houses require mask wearing for our more vulnerable clients.

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Perth WA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (required)
- National Police Certificate (required)
- Driver Licence (required)
