**About the Role**
The Garden and Maintenance Services Assistant is responsible for implementing, coordinating, monitoring, and evaluating a comprehensive preventative and corrective maintenance program for the facility’s buildings, equipment, and grounds.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Provide excellent communication and customer service.
- Maintain buildings, public spaces, and grounds to ensure a safe and high-quality environment.
- Perform general maintenance tasks to keep facilities safe, functional, and compliant with standards.
- Carry out gardening tasks, including maintaining garden beds, pathways, and outdoor seating areas to ensure they are clean, safe, and free from debris.
- Ensure plants are watered and well-maintained.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and gardening activities.
- Manage stock levels for regular maintenance and gardening tasks.
- Assist with maintaining an accurate and up-to-date asset register.
- Contribute to refurbishment, equipment replacement, and capital works planning.
- Identify preventative maintenance needs and create a documented schedule.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements and essential services for preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Maintain facility vehicles by ensuring they are clean, tidy, and serviced as per the maintenance schedule.
- Provide on-call support as required.

**Requirements**:
**Essential Criteria**
- General maintenance and gardening skills.
- Current Driver’s License.
- Current National Police Certificate (or ability to obtain).
- Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.

**Desirable Criteria**
- Experience in consulting, establishing, and managing maintenance programs.
- Skills and experience in maintenance and horticulture management.
- Background in residential aged care or a similar environment.
