**Location**:
The Northern Beaches, Upper North Shore, and North Sydney.

**A Day in the Life of The Urban Growth Team**:

- Performing planting, hedging, trimming, and general garden maintenance.
- Maintaining plant health, including fertilisation, mulching, and disease prevention.
- Safely operating mechanical gardening equipment.
- Mowing lawns using various tools, including push-on lawnmowers and ride-on mowers.
- Weed management and debris clearing.
- Ensuring garden equipment and tools are well-maintained.
- Monitoring and managing irrigation systems.
- Garden projects laying pavers, building small retaining walls and other related landscaping jobs.
- Senior team members provide guidance and training to junior gardeners.

** Where do you fit? **

**|| Horticulture Apprenticeship ||**

Are you a passionate individual eager to kickstart your horticulture career through hands-on training and mentorship? As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills, while working on a variety of projects in the beautiful landscapes of the Northern Beaches, Upper North Shore and North Sydney.

The apprenticeship program lasts for 3-4 years. TAFE studies are an integral part of this apprenticeship, involving 1 day of classes per week for the first 2-2.5 years.

**Requirements**:

- Undertake study: Certificate III in Horticulture or Certificate III in Parks and Gardens at Ryde TAFE
- You must be fit, healthy, responsible, reliable & enjoy being outdoors with a willingness to work in various weather conditions.
- While no formal experience is necessary, a positive can do attitude, along with the ability to work in a team & follow direction.
- Hours of operation 7am-3:30pm Monday to Friday - enjoy your weekends

**|| Landscape Gardener ||**

Are you someone who thrives on hands-on horticultural tasks, from planting and pruning to lawn maintenance, while also possessing a strong grasp of pest and weed control, and the ability to work safely with various gardening equipment? Do you have the skills and enthusiasm to take on landscaping tasks such as laying pavers and building small retaining walls?

You will preferably hold a NSW Trade Cert in Landscaping + NSW Manual Drivers Licence. Additionally, a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is required for this role. To excel in this position, you should exhibit qualities such as diligence, physical fitness, good health, the ability to safely lift objects exceeding 20kg, and a genuine passion for landscaping and general garden maintenance. We also value strong organisational skills, punctuality, and a strong desire to advance in the landscaping industry.
