Due to continued growth Georgiou are seeking an experienced Design Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Design or Project Manager your role will be to work as part of the design team and to ensure all processes are efficiently executed and in line with client requirements and expectations, while identifying areas of risk to Georgiou or where advantages can be gained through more efficient designs or constructability considerations.

The role involves the management of, and collaboration with, internal stakeholders and external consultant design teams and plays a key role in the identification of design risks and opportunities.

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- Significant experience working in a similar role
- Australian based D&C project experience in relevant construction projects
- Demonstrated success managing and ensuring project delivery in line with client requirements and expectations.
- Relevant Construction Management, Engineering, Architectural Degree, or similar
- Software experience (Desirable); Design / BIM Software eg; Navisworks, Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel and Outlook), Internet/ Intranet, Document Control Software, Human Resources Information System, COINS
- Drivers License
- Whitecard

**What to expect in this role**:
**_Design Management_**
- Contribute to the development of design management plans
- Contribute to the definition of site investigation and survey scopes of work as required to support design efforts
- Define and manage the development of design briefs
- Undertake quality checking of drawings and documents for errors prior to issuing to others within Georgiou, the Client or others
- Assist with the creation and review of drawings, plans, specifications and other engineering data necessary for clear interpretation by the users,
- Assist with the development of project specific design information, which will include quantities for tendering and productivity control purposes, temporary works designs and methods for high risk works.
- Ensure appropriate implementation of design development processes and controls including document control for the various phases of the developed design,
- Manage, and update the designs / drawings and records to reflect post construction changes
- Continuously review and provide feedback on project design documentation to the consultant and project teams
- Manage the consultant design team to meet the project design deliverables throughout the project life cycle
- Aide the development of robust scopes of services for design consultants
- Ensure suppliers, contractors/subcontractors and consultants are formerly advised of their responsibilities and authorities in relation to work delegated and assigned
- Assess the progress claims of contractors/subcontractors and consultants. With design consultants a transparent progress measurement spreadsheet should be utilised
- Define both the Georgiou and consultant design deliverables to comply with the D&C design brief
- Provide advice to the project around the development of efficient designs for key elements of the project including the foundation system, structural frame, mechanical / hydraulic / electrical / fire services and façade to achieve the most cost effective solution for the project
- Manage the design programme to ensure milestones are achieved and timely issue of deliverables
- Support the Design Manager and/ or the Project Manager in identifying, developing and managing consultant relationships beyond individual projects in line with business objectives

**_Building Information Modelling (BIM) Management_**
- Drives the implementation of the BIM execution plan
- Report on the selected BIM hardware and software and assist the Design Manager to implement best practices for the management of design
- Develop relationships with and manage external BIM consultants in line with the established project objectives identified within the BIM execution plan
- Assist the Design Manager and Project Manager with the establishment of Georgiou as an industry leader in the use of BIM technology.

**_Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Management_**
- Embrace all aspects of ‘The Georgiou Way’, including being an ambassador of ‘Safety is My Way’ to ensure that project HSEQ objectives are set, shared and adhered to with the objective of achieving an exemplary culture on every project
