St Johns College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Strings Tutor to join our dynamic music department. This role offers part-time or commercial contract options with flexibility to make the teaching day work with your schedule.
Role Requirements:
- Proficiency in playing and teaching string instruments (violin, viola, cello, or double bass).
- Experience conducting ensembles and teaching is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to the musical and personal development of students.
- Relevant teaching qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual, pair and group string instrument lessons on various string instruments.
- Lead and conduct a string ensemble.
- Choose repertoire appropriate to student’s skill levels.
- Foster a supportive and encouraging learning environment.
- Collaborate with the Instrumental Music Coordinator for performances and events.
To be eligible to be considered for this role you will:
- hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement;
- be eligible to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment; and
- have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic Education.
