**About the Sanctuary**:
Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary opened in 1927 as a safe refuge for sick, injured, and orphaned koalas. Today, Lone Pine remains a much loved and iconic destination for local and international guests to not only see native Australian animals, but to also connect and learn. Our goal is that everyone leaves feeling inspired to make small, positive changes in their daily lives to help protect their own native wildlife and habitats.

**About the Position**:
Reporting to the Retail Manager, the Retail Assistant role will provide exceptional service in the sanctuary gift shops and on the entrance, as required and engage with our visitors in a sincere, helpful and friendly manner. In this role, you should be an excellent communicator with strong attention to detail, a creative eye and exceptional customer service skills.

To succeed as our Retail Assistant you should be committed to providing customers with excellent service. You should be vibrant, positive, friendly, knowledgeable, and polite at all times.

At least 2 years experience in the retail and/or tourism industry is preferred, but not essential.

- Excellent customer service and support skills.
- Possess the drive and motivation to deliver exceptional guest experiences on Entrance and in the Gift Shop.
- Positive ‘Can do’ attitude.

**Responsibilities**:

- Greeting visitors in a timely fashion while quickly determining their needs.
- Bet attentive and respond to customer questions and requests in a prompt and efficient manner.
- Cleaning, re-stocking and organising retail area and merchandise.
- Assist with monthly stocktake within Souvenirs (Retail).
- Any stock transfer between Souvenirs and other departments.
- Posting of online stock orders to customers.
- Comprehensive product knowledge.
- Accurate sales transacting and reporting.
- Willingness to work as part of a high-energy, efficient team in a fast-paced environment.
- Any other duties that may be required from time to time.

**Customer Service**:

- Provide each customer service interaction with a smile
- Handle complaints in a sensitive manner or refer to your supervisor.
- Accurate sales transactions and cash handling.
- Experience operating POS systems and EFTPOS machines effectively and efficiently.
- Experience in cash handling.
- Be aware of days bookings/events.
- Multi-tasking and assisting other sections where required.

**Experience and Skills**:

- Excellent retail skills and experience preferred.
- A motivated and energetic approach to work.
- A professional focus, creativity, and a keen eye for detail.
- Professional, patient communication technique with a proven ability to foster cooperative working relationships amongst stakeholders, i.e., guests, management, and a diverse team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual

Pay: $31.10 - $32.00 per hour
