
Intelligence Analyst

**In this role you will**:
- Identify and maintain human source intelligence (including prisoners, staff and visitors)
- Utilise Prisoner Telephone System data and call records
- Utilise mail data
- Review data contained in QCS indices including intelligence systems
- Utilise QCS Intel system to retain information
- Utilise charting and mathematical modelling to identify linkages and relationships between entities
- Utilise statistical records to affect collation direction
- Utilising the IOMS intelligence module
- Record analysis in QCS Intelligence System
- Develop operational and tactical hypotheses regarding security risk issues within correctional centre
- Using endorsed QCSIG methodology including for example use of office automation software and dedicated intelligence software such as Analyst Notebook
- Share outcome of intelligence process using QCS Intelligence system
- Undertake Escape Risk Assessments
- Undertake assessments designed to inform placement decisions in endorsed and accepted formats including oral and written intelligence products and in accordance with QCS dissemination of information procedures
- Assist in development of intelligence plan including collection plan and operational actions plan
- Provide partner agencies support in accordance and under the direction and guidance of the QCS Intelligence Group
- Participate in Centre based partnering initiatives
The role fit for the ideal applicant will be someone who can competitively demonstrate their knowledge, skills and experiences and their suitability against the Leadership competencies for Queensland (Individual contributor for this role with the essential requirements being:
- Knowledge and understanding of the intelligence discipline on matters which affect the security and good order of the correctional environment will be highly regarded
- Experience working with sensitive information will be highly regarded
- Superior capability in the use of information management systems will be highly regarded
- Ability to investigate matters and conduct research and knowledge of principles of crime scene management
- Knowledge of intelligence processes and products
- Preparation of complex reports and submissions
- Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Good interviewing techniques with particular emphasis on Human source management.
Whilst there are no mandatory requirements for this position, successful completion or the willingness to complete the Introduction to Intelligence (ATP005) module of the Advanced Diploma of Public Safety (Police Intelligence) or a similar or high qualification would be highly desirable.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
