KPMG is a highly trusted and respected global professional services firm. Through depth of expertise, clarity of insight and strength of purpose we work shoulder-to-shoulder with our clients to solve complex challenges, steer transformation and change, strengthen delivery of outcomes and grow organisational capability.
Defence operates in a complex and increasingly contested and dynamic environment, which calls for an agile and adaptive policy approach to building a high performing organisation which can meet its challenges and deliver purposeful outcomes.
KPMG works with Defence to support its ongoing evolution and adaptation to meet complex challenges and deliver on the Defence mission. We work to inspire confidence and empower change to help solve complex problems and make a positive difference for Defence. We do this through:
- Purpose Led People: our people bring passion and purpose and work shoulder-to-shoulder with our Defence clients.
- Delivering real expertise, insights and innovative solutions: in every action we seek ways to create value at speed and scale, leveraging insights, expertise and innovative solutions across our global network.
Prior experience working with Defence is not essential. The essential qualities we are looking for are individuals who are impressive self-starters; great communicators; effective team players who value genuine collaboration, inclusion and diversity; and who demonstrate a drive to work with our clients and deliver enduring results in an agile and flexible environment.
Our team has attracted a range of people from career public servants (at senior and junior levels), ex-ADF and Defence personnel, to individuals who have worked for non-government organisations. We are a diverse team who value the unique experience, skills and contributions that we each bring to our clients.
You will have the opportunity to work on a broad variety of Defence focused projects with multi-skilled teams drawn from across KPMG who operate in a highly collaborative and supportive environment.
While we have an immediate need to grow our Defence focused team, team members will also have opportunities to work with PEPI teams supporting a diverse range of government clients in areas such as National Security, Health Ageing and Human Services; Climate Change; Transport and Infrastructure; Agriculture; Environment; Indigenous Affairs and the work of central agencies.
The projects we undertake are diverse but include:
- Strategic advice on policy, structural and governance reform
- Program design and administration
- Business case and feasibility studies
- Organisational review including efficiency and effectiveness
- Regulatory advisory and best practice regulatory administration.
**How are you Extraordinary?**
Our PEPI team is made up of a diverse range of extraordinary, motivated and highly skilled individuals. To be considered for this opportunity we are looking for equally extraordinary, diverse and skilled people who will enjoy our team and client focused approach to delivery. Your qualifications, skills and experience could include:
- Demonstrated experience in a public policy environment - this does not need to be Defence related. Your experience in public policy irrespective of the portfolio is key.
- Experience working with or for government organisations
- Strong interest in and commitment to continuing to develop your professional and personal skills
- A track record in contributing to and delivering successful projects
- Strong communications skills with demonstrated business writing and presentation skills
- Highly effective stakeholder engagement and management skills
