Become a Part of the NIKE, Inc. Team
NIKE, Inc. does more than outfit the world’s best athletes. It is a place to explore potential, obliterate boundaries and push out the edges of what can be. The company looks for people who can grow, think, dream and create. Its culture thrives by embracing diversity and rewarding imagination. The brand seeks achievers, leaders and visionaries. At NIKE, Inc. it’s about each person bringing skills and passion to a challenging and constantly evolving game.
The NIKE, Inc. Supply Chain team is the engine that propels product around the world. Supply Chain experts ensure that every year, almost a billion units of footwear, apparel and equipment arrive at the right place, at the right time. To ensure this complex job goes off without a hitch, Supply Chain teams work with a network of more than 50 distribution centers, thousands of accounts, and more than 100,000 retail stores worldwide — making the impossible happen every single day.
Primary Work Location: DC Facility at Ravenhall, Melbourne, Victoria.
Pacific’s Logistics Operations Team is responsible for delivering tailored supply chain services to all Nike internal and external customers. Our Vision is to create a Digital-First Supply Chain at scale through phased investments within our strategic operating model, that ensures we keep pace with the consumer.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We’re looking for someone who is detail orientated, understands effective inventory management within a distribution environment and will challenge the existing boundaries. We are looking for someone who can problem solve and can play a role in developing recommendations to situations which require quick and scalable solutions. An individual with a ‘customer first’ mindset, with focus towards performance execution and analytical appraisal of data, to drive decisions and change. We are looking for someone with an open mindset and who embraces Nike’s culture towards diversity and inclusion. This role plays an integral part in sourcing and delivering customer centric solutions within our growing logistics operations space - we are looking for someone to support and drive this growth.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
Working within the Distribution Centre (DC) Operations team located at our newly built automated facility in Ravenhall, you will be responsible for managing all inventory within the Australian and New Zealand DC networks with a continuous improvement mindset. With a key eye towards facilitating workflows and appraising the operational execution within our Third-Party Logistics (3PL) network, and drive decisions around how and where we position our products. Your attention to detail with workflow management will be critical to ensuring the DCs remain operating at the required efficiency, activating fulfillment in line with customer expectations, across Pacific. In line with chain of responsibility (CoR), you will be an advocate for safety within the workplace, ensuring that Nike obligations and expectations towards CoR are met and executed. You will ensure system parameters and capabilities are analyzed and managed effectively to drive optimal state and store inventory level. You will use analytics and data to determine how we minimize slow, obsolete, and inactive inventory within our primary DC’s, ensuring we prioritize the allocation of high heat, fast moving and launch products through our primary facilities, whilst supporting the workflow of product within our off-site storage locations. You will support the management of inventory reviews across the territory, to ensure variances are minimized and miss-alignments addressed as they are found. You will help to facilitate control management against our key compliance controls and inventory validation requirements, which include annual product counts through cyclical counting activities.
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
You will report to the DC Operations Manager - Pacific and work closely with the Pacific Logistics team. You will have touchpoints into our Pacific Operations team, through Marketplace Operations, Technology and Supply Chain Innovation channels. You will actively link in closely with our Demand and Supply Management team, to ensure accuracy around inventory and capacity planning, as this is a critical element within our planning cycle, on account of Pacific’s sustained growth plans. You will work closely with our Finance teams to support adjustments of inventory, forecasting and accrual precision. You will link in closely with our geography partners, predominantly based in Portland, Oregon, U.S.A, to support performance and cost reporting, as well as driving best practice through shared learnings. Externally, you will be a key leader in supporting supplier relationships, namely in the 3PL warehousing space across Pacific.
