Bar Manager

Join the team of Barton’s newest restaurant, led by renowned hatted chef Ben Willis. With over 30 years’ experience, Ben is Canberra’s most awarded chef, winning numerous accolades. Teaming up with DOMA Hotels to create a new restaurant within the Realm Precinct, Ben is set to deliver another unique and memorable dining experience in the Canberra food scene.

We are looking for an exceptional Bar Manager to lead the bar operations of Canberra’s newest restaurant and deliver the very best in service to our guests.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Managing and supervising all bar operations - including inventory management, staff rostering and training
- Creating and implementing new and innovative beverage menus
- Developing and maintaining successful relationships with customers, precinct guests and vendors
- Ensuring compliance with all Work Health and Safety regulations
- Ensure a collaborative relationship is established with the kitchen staff to create immaculate food and beverage pairings
- Conduct regular staff performance evaluations and provide necessary coaching to ensure the team is providing the highest customer service standards
- Manage the bar budget by maintaining profitability targets

**Skills and Experience**:

- Minimum of 5+ years experience in a similar role within a fine dining establishment
- Proven strong leadership skills
- Has the ability to make quick and sound decisions under pressure
- Excellent knowledge of various wines, spirits, and cocktails
- A knowledge of current fine dining and bar trends
- Ability to manage a successful and customer focused team
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays if required
- Ability to manage inventory and main cost control
- A proven certification in hospitality management or a similar field is encouraged but not required

**Salary**: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
