We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Workplace Health and Safety Specialist at Perth Head Office (363 Wellington Street, Perth), on an 8-Month Maximum term basis.
**About this role**
To provide proactive workplace health and safety specialist advice and services to team members and internal stakeholders to ensure successful implementation of the Western Power Safety Strategy Projects.
As the Workforce Specialist you will assist in the delivery of Western Power’s Work Health and Safety Strategy Projects. Initially this role will provide coordination related support, to assist in the implementation of the Critical Risk Management (CRM) Project. This includes:
- Effective and consistent coordination of proactive workforce occupational Safety Cultural Maturity Strategy program.
- Provide specialist advice to team members and internal stakeholders to ensure the quality of strategic programs are consistent with workforce expectations.
- Develop and implement proactive initiatives, campaigns and training programs to drive continual improvement and assist to embed these within the workplace.
- Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvements and best practice Work Health and Safety processes and systems.
- Develop project implementation and stakeholder engagement plan for workforce SEQT proactive initiatives.
- Provide SEQT Function and Western Power workforce with professional support and advice.
- Analyse divisional and organisation workforce, health and safety data, identify risk trends and identify improvement opportunities.
**About you**
We are seeking someone with experience and attributes that include:
- Tertiary qualification in Safety, Health, Business Management or similar
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to think creatively and influence stakeholders, take initiative, ability to communicate and engage competently to both middle managers and frontline staff
- Sound knowledge and demonstrated experience in devising and developing Safety improvement projects
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise work and critically assess own performance
- Sound knowledge and demonstrated experience in project management plan, and execute projects
- Experience in developing and delivering strategic SHE improvement programs
- Experience in developing and delivering SHE training programs
- Demonstrated knowledge of Work, Health and Safety legislation
