AGA employs many of these apprentices and trainees and assumes the primary duty of care as the legal employer and ensures they are supported and mentored throughout their employment.

**About the role**

The role of the Youth Worker is to work in partnership with key Service Providers to coordinate & deliver activities that support and engage vulnerable young people. By doing so, the Youth Worker will empower young people to make positive and informed life-choices.

The Youth Worker’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Provide information, supported referral and advocacy for young people
- Encourage and support young people in acknowledging barriers especially those that hinder service support
- Provide short to medium term Case Work to young people to ensure referral and supports are sustainable and appropriate
- Build networks to facilitate the effective integration of services in the assigned Region
- Maintain high quality case files, case notes and information related to outcome indicators for the service
- Assist with the identification of service gaps and community trends, and contribute to the development of the service to meet the changing needs of the community

**About you**
- To succeed in this role you will have:
- Certificate 4 in Youth Work or equivalent Community Services or Social Studies qualification (Desirable)
- Proven capacity to establish effective working relationships with a wide range of services and professionals
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and harmoniously within a team to achieve team goals.
- Demonstrated understanding of the barriers and issues faced by vulnerable young people.
- Demonstrated ability to provide activities and supports that genuinely interest and engage young people, empowering them to make positive choices and changes to their lives.
- Current Driver’s License
- Applicants must be eligible to work in Australia. A current Working with Children and National Police Checks are required and can be arranged for the suitable applicant._
