Payroll Officer

**The Opportunity**

Join our friendly payroll team as we look for a motivated Payroll Officer to support our Queensland operations. You’ll assist with the entire payroll processing cycle, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all calculations while following relevant laws and regulations. Resolving payroll issues and providing support to the payroll team will be key parts of your role. You'll also work closely with HR, finance, and IT teams to help integrate payroll operations and ensure accurate reporting.

**What You’ll Do**
- Assist in preparing fortnightly payrolls for multiple locations.
- Prepare and process necessary documentation for new hires, contract variations, and terminations.
- Maintain accurate personnel records.
- Respond to payroll inquiries promptly and accurately.
- Prepare and reconcile payment summaries, superannuation contributions, and other payroll-related documents.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Payroll Manager.

**What You’ll Bring**

To succeed in this role, you should have some payroll experience in a busy, fast-paced environment, a flexible attitude, and a commitment to delivering payroll on time. You'll also need to be good at building positive relationships within a friendly and supportive team.

- Strong understanding of industrial instruments.
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven track record of working effectively both as part of a team and independently when needed.
- Skilled in planning, coordinating, and prioritising multiple tasks efficiently.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a commitment to excellence.
- Demonstrated respect for privacy and confidentiality.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

**Desirable**
- Experience with the Chris 21 payroll system.
- Strong understanding of regulatory issues related to PAYG tax, payroll tax, superannuation, workers' compensation, salary packaging, and FBT.
