**SMS Mining Services is a privately owned, West Australian based Mining Contractor. Founded in 2000, SMS has progressed from being solely Equipment Rental to now having extensive involvement in the Maintenance, Contract Mining and Drill and Blast Divisions.**

**About the role**:
As a member of the senior management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the HR strategy implementation and HR operations function in line with agreed business needs.
The role covers the full remit of HR including, but not limited to:
- The facilitation of annual processes such as engagement surveys/actions
- Performance management and talent identification
- Manage recruitment, salary review and benchmarking
- Develop and implement policies, practices and initiatives (as needs arise)
This role will be key to the implementation of agreed process and policy while also advising and guiding leaders and stakeholders through legislation and change management.

Human Resources
- Managing the HR team to achieve the departmental and organisational goals
- Responsible for all HR lifecycle activities including recruitment and on-boarding, attraction and retention strategy, performance and remuneration reviews, talent recognition and succession planning
- Providing high level HR support, managing organisational compliance with employment legislation and guidance to all internal stakeholders
- Provide coaching and support to the business about all employee relations matters including disciplinary and performance management best practice
- Development, implementation and continuous improvement of human resources, policies, and procedures to ensure best outcomes
- Conduct investigations into workplace behavior or conduct issues
- Actioning of business HR needs whilst ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, agreements, and policies
Recruitment
- Managing a growing recruitment function, ensuring effective communications, and monitoring of goals and achievements to achieve effective sourcing and onboarding of talent, through coordinated, effective and efficient processes
- Development, implementation and continuous improvement of recruitment processes, policies, and procedures
- Provide advice to senior stakeholders on attraction and retention strategies in particular remuneration and benefits and market conditions
- During project start-ups and ramp ups, this role will play a key part in developing and delivering sourcing strategies to meet project requirements within tight timeframes
Organisational Culture Development
- Partner with the leadership team to implement strategies for culture development and improvement
- Foster a positive climate for an engaged, diverse, and inclusive workforce to drive a performance-based culture which is aligned with the goals and objectives of the organisation
- Select strategic functions, events, and programs to promote employee engagement and achieve organisational cultural aims and outcomes
**Skills and Experience**:
- 7 + years in a Senior HR/ Culture and People position preferably within the Mining and associated industries with a proven record of managing teams, reporting to senior management, and developing and implementing strategies across the organisation
- An advanced level of both written and oral communication, with interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to deliver on key stakeholder needs in a changing environment
- A background in strategic sourcing with an understanding of visa and immigration requirements
- Strong recruitment background with a focus on attraction and retention strategies
- An appreciation for rolling up sleeves and supporting operational HR delivery whilst also engaging with the broader management team and overall business in the delivery of strategic long-term goals
- Tertiary Qualification in Human Resources and associated studies
