ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Director of Port Phillip Prison, the General Manager is responsible for the safe and effective operation of Port Phillip Prison on behalf of Corrections Victoria, delivering services to meet the expectations of the Correctional Management Standards for Men's Prisons in Victoria, the Charter of Human Rights, and all aspects of the Prison Services Agreement.
Through innovation of services and operations, the role will deliver sustainable financial performance for G4S, positive interactions and rehabilitation for prisoners, value for Corrections Victoria and a benchmark for similar services across Australia.
RESPONSIBILITIES

**The core responsibilities of this role are to**:

- Accountable for the oversight and leadership of prisoner administration services onsite including but not limited to prisoner monies, prisoner earnings and facility stores management.
- Create and deliver a service delivery plan, as part of the broader business plan for Port Phillip Prison, which in-turn delivers safe, sustainable and effective processes, systems and services to meet contract and customer requirements, and associated budgets and forecasts over the term of the contract.
- Deliver against allocated continuous improvement initiatives and Management of a safety system, ensuring a safe work environment for employees, partners, inmates and the community.
- Ensure teams accountable, prioritising appropriate consultation and feedback to support a positive workplace culture, and ensuring teams understand Port Phillip Prison's goals and objectives, and their contribution to outcomes under applicable strategies.
- Demonstrate and deliver a culture and framework of continuous improvement and desire to make a positive difference.

**The essential requirements from you**:

- Demonstrated experience implementing and governing change.
- Experienced people leader skilled at developing others to meet both their career and the organisation's goals.
- Proven management of complex services operations and long-term commercial contracts with robust performance frameworks.
- Managing safety in high risk and unionised environments.
- Significant experience at a senior level in the Corrections or associated Industry.
