The role of the AML Consultant is a key role within the Aus MLRO Team which supports the Aus MLRO and our key partners, namely in the first line of defense (1st LoD). The role of the Australia MLRO Team is to effectively implement the requirements of the Australia AML/CTF Program (Parts A & B) and Group Financial Crime Framework (which covers AML/CTF, Economic Sanctions and Anti-Bribery and Corruption. The Australia MLRO Team is a second line of defense (2LoD) function.
- To provide AML SME advice and guidance to our key partners in meeting the requirements of the Australia AML/CTF Program and Group Financial Crime Framework.
- Assist in establishing written guidance on the appropriate implementation of Financial Crime Compliance programs and laws, regulations, rules and standards, and other documents, such as Policies, Procedures and Processes.
- Participate in conducting monitoring and assurance of the effectiveness of the key controls that implement the requirements of the AML/CTF Program.
- Coordinate the annual Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA) and Enterprise Sanctions Risk Assessment (ESRA).
- Contribute to the submission of the annual AUSTRAC compliance report.
- Actively identifies Financial Crime Risk and Compliance enhancement opportunities.
- Identifies situations which may pose significant Financial Crime Compliance risk through ongoing monitoring and testing and assists in guiding management in developing policies and/or procedures that minimize risk.
- Contributes to the development and where required delivery of training material.
- Keeps abreast of changes in AML and Financial Crime Compliance-related laws, rules and standards.
- Conducts impact assessments on regulatory changes or other relevant notifications published by AUSTRAC or other law enforcement agencies and presents the outcome to key stakeholders.
- Have 3-5 or more years' experience, in AML/CTF - Financial Crime Risk and Compliance; or equivalent
- Has a sound knowledge of Australian AML and Financial Crime Compliance laws and regulatory requirements.
- Hold ACAMS accreditation or equivalent
- Has sound analytical and communication skills and the ability to confidently communicate information to partners and the broader Group.
