Risk Management Officer

**THE ROLE**

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to join the Integrated Risk Management team in the role of Risk Management Officer to coordinate and facilitate activities to minimise Council’s exposure to risk by assisting in the implementation of an effective integrated Risk Management system. This role is responsible for administering Council’s insurance portfolio and processing of internal and external claims. Additionally, the role supports the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Business Continuity Plan.

Key responsibilities include:

- Manage Council’s insurance portfolio including the management and administration of claims in a cost effective manner, maintaining privacy and confidentiality
- Staff education and advice on risk management and insurance across the business
- Ensure regular review of Council’s insurance coverage to minimise the potential for uninsured losses
- Regular reporting, including collection and collation of statistical data, to key stakeholders across the business to improve understanding of Council’s risk profile
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of Council’s risk registers
- Facilitate alcohol and other drugs testing for staff in accordance with the Alcohol & Other Drugs protocol and procedure
- Provide support for the follow-up of internal audit recommendations and the operation Council's Audit, Risk and Improvement Committee
- Ensure the Integrated Risk Management page on Council’s intranet is up to date, comprehensive and user friendly
- Ensure Council’s Business Continuity Plan is maintained and updated on a regular basis

Certified Practicing Risk Associate status will be highly regarded.

This position is offered on a full-time, permanent basis working 35 hours per week.

Remuneration for this position is based on 11 of the salary system which equates to a base salary between $77,357 to $87,016 per annum plus superannuation.
