Signature Care is looking for a part-time Maintenance Officer for our premier residence in Langwarrin. This newly created position presents an exciting opportunity to shape the service delivery of Signature Care into the future during a period of significant change in the aged care sector.

**About the Role**:
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Officer to assist in maintaining the interior and exterior of this state of the art building to a high standard, having regard for the comfort and wellbeing of residents and advising on replacement or repairs as required. The successful applicant will assist the F/T Maintenance Officer, and also have close support from the the GM Property Services.
**Skills and Requirements for this Role**:
To be successful in this position you will be able to demonstrate the following:
- Experience in building maintenance
- Knowledge of Aged Care industry is desirable
- Thorough understanding of all legislative requirements pertaining to maintenance and repairs i.e. OH&S & Fire/Evacuation
- Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks including use of tools and equipment
- Willingness to be contribute to after-hours maintenance requirements from time to time
- Excellent communication skills and respect for residents and colleagues
- Previous experience working autonomously with limited direction
- Ability to weld would be an advantage
- Be able to make decisions about costs and priorities and documenting a full plan for work to be completed
- Supervise and monitor the maintenance and gardening team
- Contribute to the support of aged care residents by providing quality service as required, and with respect to dignity and privacy.
This is a 3 day per week role, 9.30 - 5.30. The days can be negotiated within reason but will need to complement the hours for our current Maintenance Officer and the requirements of the residence.
**Essential**:
- Trade Qualification e.g. B Grade Electrician & OHS Qualification is advantageous
- A current Victorian driver’s licence
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
